GNOME Shell extension: Claude Code usage limits in the top bar

File Browser:

README

Claude Usage — GNOME Shell Extension

Shows your Claude Code 5-hour and 7-day usage limits in the GNOME top bar.

5h: 14%↑ 2h15m | 7d: 18%

The arrow compares your usage % to how much of the 5-hour window has passed:

  • — used less than time elapsed, you have room to use more
  • — used more than time elapsed, slow down or you'll hit the limit early

  • Time remaining in the 5-hour window is shown next to the percentage

  • Refreshes every minute

Requirements

  • GNOME Shell 45–50
  • Claude Code installed and logged in (~/.claude/.credentials.json must exist)
